Livai resigns
Football coach led Kahuku to four state championships
Paul HondaSiuaki Livai has resigned after a decade as head football coach at Kahuku High School.
Livai led the Red Raiders to four of the last six state championships, including their most recent crown last December. The algebra teacher amassed a 102-20 win-loss mark.
Livai was not available for comment today. In a statement from school principal
Lisa DeLong, Livai expressed his reason for leaving the post.
"It's the right time to leave, as a champion. I've accomplished more than
I ever expected. I want to spend more time with my family, my "Back to the
Roots' program, the Samoa Bowl and the Kingdom Bowl."
Former head coach Doug Semones, who was a linebackers coach last season,
is a possible candidate for the position. So is former defensive coordinator Byron
Beatty, father of last season‚s top pass rusher, B.J. Beatty.http://starbulletin.com/breaking/breaking.php?id=4331
