One of the biggest visitors at Iowa's junior day on Saturday was 6-foot-3, 293-pound Niko Mafuli of St. Louis, Missouri. Mafuli attends high school at St. Louis University High where he was a teammate of 2006 Iowa recruit Paul Chaney this past season.

"Niko was 6-foot-3, 293 pounds as a junior and ran between a 4.8 and a 4.9 forty," said Kornfeld. "He throws the shot and discus in track and he's a real strong guy with great feet. He benches 365 and squats 600 pounds."
Mafuli, who could play either offensive or defensive line in college, earned second team all-metro honors as an offensive tackle in 2005, as SLUH finished with an 8-2 record. The junior is already on the recruiting radar for several teams this year, including the in-state Missouri Tigers.
"Niko has already been offered by Missouri," Kornfeld said. "I think he should be one of the top recruits out of the St. Louis area next year."
