ACQUIRED: The Blue Bombers signed Tuipala as a free agent on Oct. 3, 2005.

2005 – Tuipala was a much sought-after free agent target of G.M. Brendan Taman. He showed glimpses of the talents made him so highly-coveted in a brief two-game trial near the end of the season, despite the fact he was a stranger to the Canadian game and field. He recorded two defensive tackles and one special teams tackle. Tuipala signed earlier in the year with the NFL’s Washington Redskins but was subsequently released.

2003 – Tuipala spent the 2003 season on the Jacksonville Jaguars injured reserve list.

2001-02 – Tuipala was a special teams standout for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He led the club in special teams tackles both years. Tuipala also played for the Las Vegas Outlaws of the XFL in their one and only season of existence.

2000 – Tuipala was assigned by the Detroit Lions to the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe for the 2000 season.

1999 – Tuipala saw limited action with the Lions after signing with them as an undrafted free agent.

COLLEGE CAREER – Tuipala was a collegiate standout at San Diego State. He recorded 271 tackles, five sacks and one touchdown with San Diego. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 1998 Las Vegas Bowl.
