The Detroit Lions recently signed Blaine Saipaia to a free agent mid-season contract. Saipaia will join fellow Polynesian Dominic Raiola on the offensive line. The Lions drafted USC and Banning HS (Wilmington, CA) graduate Fred Matua in the 7th round of this year's draft but traded him to the Tennessee Titans.
