California HS Poly Football Roundup

KJ Aukuso RB, 5'8, 165, Sr (El Camino HS, Oceanside, CA): Had 108 yards on 20 rushes in a 34-6 win over Fallbrook. Stanley Fa'asua (LB/RB, 5'10, 185, Sr) scored first for El Camino on a 6 yard shovel pass. The Wildcats got their final score when 275-pound defensive lineman turned fullback Rocky Porotesano (6'3, 275, Jr) plunged into the end zone for his first career TD.

Niko Aumua WR, Jr (Alameda HS, CA): The host Hornets overcame a 16-point deficit and won the game when wide receiver Niko Aumua made a one-handed catch of a 20-yard touchdown pass with 3:07 to play. Aumua led Alameda with six catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns.

Ronnie Fouch QB, 6'2, 195 Sr (Redlands East Valley HS, CA): The University of Washington commit was 13 of 22 passes for 221 yards and a TD.

Ina Liaina FB/LB, 6'0, 215, Jr (Rio Mesa HS, Oxnard, CA): Had 3 catches for 113 yards and a 50 yard TD run in a 62-21 win over Pacifica HS (Oxnard, CA).
Ventura CS

David Motu ILB, 6'1, 210, Sr (Oceanside HS, CA): Had 2 sacks leading Oceanside to a 21-7 win over Vista. Jordan Vaeena, (5'9, 215, Sr) who entered the game when running back Armani Taylor became ill, rushed for all three touchdowns (1, 1, 3) by Oceanside.

Kenese Pedro RB/LB, Sr (Encinal HS, Alameda, CA): Gained 122 yards on 9 carries in a 47-20 loss to Pinole Valley
Contra Costa Times

Seta Pohahau RB, 5'11, 190, Jr (Aragon HS, San Mateo, CA): Rushed 26 times for 201 yards, and scored on runs of 58, 41, and 6 in a 27-22 win over Menlo-Atherton HS (CA). Fullback Matu Pulotu (FB, 5'8, 250, Soph) added 100 yards on 15 carries. But this day belonged to Aragon’s linemen, which controlled the action up front. Defensive end T.Y. Faaumu (6'2, 260, Jr) and Ahmed Shehade were in the M-A backfield throughout, combining for three sacks and six tackles for losses. Sifa Tonga (LB, 6'0, 210, Soph) had an interception, while Chris Havili (5'11, 280, Sr), Martin Taualo (6'4, 240, Sr) and Steven Dimatteo had one sack each. Faaumu spearheaded the defense with several quarterback pressures, often flying off his stance like a bat out of hell. Pohahau pictured.

Thomas Su'a RB, 6'0, 205, Sr (St Joseph HS, Santa Maria, CA): Rushed for 134 yards on 22 carries and 3 TDs in a 27-19 win over Morro Bay.

Jack Sula
RB, 5'11, 185, Jr (Carson HS, CA): Led the Colts with 106 yards on 8 carries and the games first two scores(22 and 18 yard runs). Sula also had 2 receptions for 25 yards. Carson's defense, led by David Sausau (LB, 6'0, 175, Sr), who made a couple of big tackles on key plays in the game, didn't wilt after allowing a third-quarter touchdown. Sausau finished with 9 tackles and 2 for loss including a sack for a loss of 10 yards.

Etu Taufa LB, 5'9, 196, Jr (Serra HS, Gardena, CA): recorded three of Serra's sacks. "We had a good week of practice," Taufa said. "I just felt that we had to come out and prove last week was a fluke. With a goose egg, I hope people see what we're talking about." Sione Tuihalamaka (DL/OL, 6'3, 263, So) and Cameron Faniel-Jones each recovered a fumble for Serra.

Tiuke Tuipulotu RB, 5'9, 175 Jr (Serra HS, San Mateo, CA): Tuipulotu had his second big week in a row, rushing for 158 yards on 15 carries with three touchdowns--two for 23 yards and one for 3, as Serra (8-2, 5-1) clinched at least a co-championship in the WCAL and earned an automatic bid to the postseason with a win in its final game of the regular season.
