Kahuku LB Nai Fotu Offered by Arizona

Arizona offers Fotu a football scholarship

His dream was to play for a Mountain West school, but reality may change for Kahuku linebacker Nai Fotu.

The talented defensive lineman received a scholarship offer yesterday from Arizona, a Pac-10 school. This comes on the heels of an offer from Hawaii last week.

Fotu, at 5-foot-11 and 242 pounds, is considered by at least one recruiter to be the most underrated player in the islands.

"He should qualify academically," said Doris Sullivan, director of the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance. Sullivan has assisted Fotu with sending video footage to college coaches. "He's already qualified for Utah."

Hawaii has loads of young talent at linebacker, which makes the offer intriguing. The Warriors have a history of converting defensive linemen to running back.
