US Mainland Poly Football Round Up: Nov 16-18

Langilangi Haupeakui RB, 5'11, 217, Jr (Rite of Passage, Yerington, NV): Led Rite of Passage to the Nevada 2A State Championship win a 40-27 win over Arbor View (Panaca)>. Haupeakui led the Rams with a 173 yards on 14 carries and TD runs of 82 and 33 yards. Rite of Passage is a residential treatment facility for at-risk teenage boys located in the middle of the state of Nevada. Stefano Latu (RB, 5'10, 194, Jr) rushed for 161 yards on 17 carries and TD runs of 4 and 44 yards.

Jordan Strickland SS/TE, 6'2, 200, Sr (Auburn HS, WA): Caught a 45 yard TD to put Auburn up 21-14 in a 47-14 win over Timberline (Lacy, WA). Three plays later, Strickland stripped Blazers tailback Bobby Barnes and recovered the fumble. Strickland also had an interception in the second half. Auburn (12-0) plays the winner of today's Eastside Catholic-Bellevue game in the semifinals next Friday or Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.

William Vea RB, Sr (Pahranagat Valley HS, Alamo, NV): Led his team to a 56-14 win over Tonopah and the Nevada 1A State Championship (8 Man). Vea, the younger brother of UNLV freshman George Vea was used primarily as a decoy. Vea however finished 93 yards on 12 rushes and a 17 yard TD run in the 4th quarter. Vea also had 3 receptions for 74 yards and a 4 yard TD reception in the 4th quarter. Entering the game Vea had rushed for a team-high 946 yards and 25 TDs. He also is the team's second-leading receiver with 21 catches for 418 yards and six scores.
