KENNEWICK, Wash. - Players have come from all over the country to be on the Tri-Cities Fever. Nobody, however, has come as far as Cory Meleisea. The WR/DB played football in New Zealand last year at Kelston Boys College.
Every team in the AF2 carries one international player. Tony Wells has brought in Meleisea, who has helped out on special teams and seen spot duty on offense. The AF2 is a big change, but fun.
"I think the big adjustment is hitting with pads," he said. "That's a big thing. The guys have really taken me under their wing and helped."
With his "down under" accent, Meleisea has been a curiosity to his teammates. "The thing you get the most is 'What are the girls like?'"
