April 27, 2007-Frankfurt Galaxy defensive back Shirdonya Mitchell was the brightest star in an impressive collection of efforts by Dolphins-allocated players in NFL Europa Week Two action. For the first time, all four started for their respective teams, and each made substantial impacts on the outcome.

Mitchell registered four tackles, three passes defensed and an interception, which he returned 81 yards for a touchdown, in the Galaxy’s 18-13 win over Cologne. Dolphins-allocated defensive tackle Steve Fifita also started for the victors and recorded six tackles. Fellow Dolphins-allocated defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson, playing for Cologne, started and registered five tackles and 0.5 sacks.

In Rhein’s 16-10 victory over Amsterdam, Dolphins-allocated wide receiver P.K. Sam made his first start and led the team for the second straight week with 81 receiving yards on a team-high three catches. Sam had a 45-yard first-quarter reception on third-and-11 that set up Rhein’s first field goal.

This week, Sam and the Fire look for their second straight win when they host Vickerson and his Cologne teammates on Sunday. Meanwhile, Fifita, Mitchell and the Frankfurt Galaxy hope to remain as the league’s only unbeaten when they host Hamburg on Saturday. Amsterdam will visit Berlin in the week’s other contest.
