As more offers continue to roll in for Corona (Calif.) offensive lineman Max Tuioti-Mariner, the plan is for the talented guard prospect to cut his list to five, possibly as soon as next week
Cali OL Max Tuioti-Mariner is close to cutting his list |
On the recruiting front, new offers pour in by the week but rather than expand his list, it sounds like Tuioti-Mariner is on the verge of significantly cutting things down.
"We're going to meet next week and likely trim his list to five schools," Corona coach John Brandom said. "The most recent offers have come in from Cal, Nebraska, Washington and Michigan State. I don't even know the total right now but he has a lot of them."
Two schools that have yet to offer are the two closest to home to Tuioti-Mariner.
"UCLA loves him but they are waiting on his final semester grades," Brandom said. "Same thing with Notre Dame, both of those schools said they would offer him right now if they could but they're waiting on his academics. Max is finishing up strong this semester so he should be good to go.
"As for USC, I'm not sure what they're doing. I guess they're still evaluating Max but that's fine. He has a lot of great choices and the plan once we narrow the list down is to start setting up some of his official visits. We're going to set up all five although I don't know if Max will take all five.
"I think he may just end up taking a couple because after awhile, the trips get pretty tiring. Right now, he just wants to focus on football so the trips will likely be after the season. I'm not sure who will make the cut right now but check back next week and we should have a good idea."
