SF Chronicle Top Area Players

The San Francisco Chronicle has named its top Metro players by position for the 2007 football season. They include

Ty Fa'aumo: Offensive lineman for Aragon (San Mateo) blocks for standout running back Seta Pohahau. Selected first team All League and first team center All Daily News (Los Gatos) in 2006.

Steve Fanua: 6'1, 220, Jr linebacker. Led state in tackles as a sophomore with 220 tackles and also had 11 sacks. Selected League Defensive MVP. 1st Team All San Jose Mercury News, 2nd Team All Metro (San Francisco Chronicle), NorCal Preps 1st Team and NorCal Preps Defensive Player of the Year.

Blake Lebeau: Senior offensive lineman from Logan High School in Union City.

Latani Moimoi: Senior defensive lineman for Menlo-Atherton. In 2006 selected 1st Team Bay League DE, 1st Team All Daily News DE, 2nd Team San Jose Mercury News DL, Honorable Mention All Peninsula (SF Chronicle).

Seta Pohahau of Aragon, a 5'10, 195, senior running back who has verballed to BYU. Pohahau rushed for 1,519 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2006.

Siua Taufa: Ygnacio Valley (Concord), second team all league selection as a sophomore ni 2006.

Errol Tu'ufuli: 6'0, 350, Sr defensive lineman for Riordan HS (San Francisco). Had 73 tackles at nose guard last season and was a second team all West Catholic league selection.
