Sports Network Tabs Faletoese As Preseason All-America

DAVIS, Calif. - Defensive lineman John Faletoese earned his third preseason All-America honor of the summer when The Sports Network tabbed the UC Davis standout as a first-team pick on its team announced this week.

Faletoese, a 6-foot-3, 278-pound junior from Sacramento, was earlier named a preseason All-American by Street & Smith's College Football Yearbook and by the College Sporting News. Faletoese is a two-time All-Great West Football Conference selection who received recognition earlier this summer from The Sports Network when it selected him the No. 2 returning defensive tackle.

Faletoese earned the preseason honors on the heels of a strong sophomore season in which he had an Aggie-best 9.5 tackles-for-losses as part of his 35 overall stops. He's also been a key player on special teams, blocking five kicks in his first two seasons.

UC Davis is currently practicing for the upcoming season, which opens on Sept. 1 against Western Washington at new Aggie Stadium. The Aggies, 6-5 last season, are searching for their 38th consecutive winning season.
