Lefotu Is Arraigned, Then Cut

Kili Lefotu, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins, was released yesterday, hours after being arraigned at the Loudoun General District Court on charges of assault and battery and destruction of property.

Lefotu, 23, who was an offensive lineman on the practice squad and who was arrested Friday at Nick's Corner Grill in Ashburn, could face up to 12 months in jail and a maximum fine of $2,500 for the assault and battery charge, a Class 1 misdemeanor. He also could be incarcerated for one to five years and face a maximum fine of $2,500 for the charge of destruction of public property, a Class 6 felony. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11.
