Tacome Tribune All Area

Lakes High's (Lakewood, WA) Tupou F Manaea (DL, 6'2, 250, Sr) and FederalWay High's Andru Pulu (LB, 6'2, 235, Jr) were named to the Tacoma Tribune All Area First Team Defense. Bothell wide receiver Robert Akeo-Orr was named to the Offense First Team.

Robert Akeo-Orr, Bethel
Receiver, 5-11, 175, senior
No receiver in the South Sound had more catches than Akeo-Orr’s 76 receptions, which resulted in 1,335 yards and five touchdowns. He was the best of a good group of Braves receivers. Quick enough to run by defensive backs, but totally willing to go across the middle in traffic, Akeo-Orr was called the “complete package” by coach Gavin Kralik.
• A little more about Akeo-Orr: He broke Bethel’s school receiving record for most yards in a season, the previous high of 1,163 set by Jamil Turner.

Tupou F. Manea, Lakes
Defensive line, 6-2, 250, senior
A squatty, run-stopping force, Manea clogged the interior against Lancers opponents this season. He racked up 85 tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks, despite playing with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his knee suffered in the preseason.
• A little more about Manea: There was a player named Tupou K. Manea on the Lancers this season.

Andru Pulu, Federal Way
Linebacker, 6-2, 235, junior
Just a junior, Pulu will be back to terrorize offenses next season. This year he anchored a defense that was good enough to help Federal Way win its first SPSL North title since the 1970s. Pulu is a two-year All-SPSL North selection and one of the state’s top junior prospects.
• A little more about Pulu: You won’t be seeing him rocking out often to heavy guitar riffs since he dislikes rock music of any kind.
