Five Polynesians have been selected for the 2009 Under Armour All-America game. They include quarterback Moses Alipate of Bloomington (MN), John Martinez of Cottonwood (Salt Lake City, UT), Morrell Presley of Carson (CA), Xavier Su'a Filo of Timpview (Provo, UT) and Manti Te'o of Punahou (Honolulu, HI).
Alipate is the son of former NFL and CFL linebacker Alipate Tuineau, is a 6-5, 220 quarterback. Morrell Presley, who is part Hawaiian, has verbally committed to play at USC in 2009, following his 2nd Team All City (Los Angeles) selection (tight end) as a junior. John Martinez, who is Tongan, was selected first team all state (offensive lineman) by the Salt Lake Tribune as a junior. Su'a Filo, an offensive lineman helped lead Timpview to the Utah State Championship (4A) and was selected first team all state by the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News. Manti Te'o as a junior year, was selected the state defensive player of the year by the Honolulu Star Bulletin.
