Freshman quarterback turning heads

JFK's Thompson already getting college offers while subbing for injured starter

By DARREN FESSENDEN
Kennedy is playing a freshman at quarterback, and his last name should be familiar. Jason Thompson is the brother of Everette Thompson (Kennedy, '08), who is playing as a true freshman at Washington.

Thompson was inserted into the Lindbergh game a couple weeks ago and threw a third-quarter touchdown pass in his only attempt in a 49-21 win that all but sealed another Seamount title for the Lancers. In a 56-21 win over Hazen last week, he threw for two more touchdowns and finished 6 of 10 for 107 yards and no interceptions.

On Thursday night, Thompson completed 3 of 4 passes and two went for 69- and 26-yard touchdowns in the opening quarter as the No. 6 Lancers (8-1, 8-0) beat Mount Rainier 62-14 in their regular-season finale.
