College Football Week 6 Wrap Up

Week 6 is completed in FBS and FCS college football.


Arizona linebacker Vuna Tuihalamaka had 4 tackles in the 36-33 loss to Washington.


Harvey Unga led BYU with 149 rushing yards in a 59-21 win over UNLV. Unga scored 3 first half touchdowns on runs of 33, 1, and 52 yards. Fullback Manase Tonga led the Cougars with 5 catches for 62 yards and added 29 yards on 5 yards rushing. Unga and Tonga are the only Tongan starting backfield in the country. Defensive lineman Romney Fuga tied for the team lead with 4 tackles in the win.


Colorado middle linebacker Michael Sipili (Damien Memorial-Honolulu) had 6 tackles (4 solo) including 2 tackles for loss in the loss to Texas.


Eastern Washington linebacker Makai Borden finished with 8 tackles in the loss to Weber State.


Hawaii defensive players RJ Kiesel Kauhane (‘Aiea), Tuika Tufaga (Kahuku), and Blaze Soares (Castle-Kane’ohe) tied for the team lead in tackles with 6 each in the 42-17 loss to Fresno State. Walk on quartberback Bryant Moniz (Leilehua-Wahiawa) was 24-52 for 283 yards and 2 TD passes in his first start.


Shiloh Keo led Idaho with 7 tackles in the 29-25 win over San Jose State. Linebacker Robert Siavi’i (Leilehua-Wahiawa) added 5 tackles and Jojo Dickson (Baldwin-Wailuku) had 4 tackles. Kama Bailey (Damien Memorial-Honolulu) had 3 kick returns for 51 yards.


After missing three games because of injury, Iowa tight end Tony Moeaki returned to the lineup and hauled in six passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Iowa’s win over Penn State improves the Hawkeyes record to 6-0 and 2-0 in the Big 10.


Nebraska running back Roy Helu Jr scored on a 5 yard run with 56 seconds left to cap a 27-12 comeback win versus Missouri. Helu led NU's rushing attack with 18 carries for 88 yards, including a 41-yard burst on Nebraska's final drive to put the Tigers away in the fourth quarter.


Nevada running back Vai Taua led the Wolfpack in rushing with 107 yards on 17 rushes in the 37-14 win over Louisiana Tech.


Ohio safety Patrick Tafua had 3 tackles and an interception in a 19-7 win over Akron.


Oregon State linebacker David Pa’aluhi (Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama) had 6 tackles and defensive back Brandon Hardin (Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama) had 4 tackles and 1 pass breakup in the victory over Stanford.


San Jose State safety Tiuke Tuipulotu had 8 tackles in the loss to Idaho.


Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu had 3 receptions for 83 yards including a 38 yard TD, and had 5 kick returns for 87 yards in the loss to Oregon State.


UNLV defensive linemen Martin Tevaseu and Heivaha Mafi each had 5 tackles in the loss to BYU.


Utah defensive end Koa Misi had 3 tackles including 1 sack in a 24-17 win over Colorado State.


Washington defensive lineman Daniel Te’o Nesheim had 5 tackles and 1 sack in the 36-33 over Arizona.


Weber State quarterback Cameron Higgins (St Louis-Honolulu) passed for 235 yards and 2 TDs in the 31-13 win over Eastern Washington. Bo Bolen returned 3 kickoffs for 112 yards including a long of 67 yards. Defensive lineman Ryan Eastman (St Louis-Honolulu) had 6 tackles including 3 sacks.
