Aukusitino, Feckley top Alaska all-state football team

Service's Amu Aukusitino and West's Conor Feckley each broke the state passing record this season, so it's no surprise both were named first-team quarterbacks on the all state large-school football team.

Aukusitino, who threw for 2,471 yards in 11 games, was named offensive player of the year by coaches after helping Service march to its sixth state championship and 10-0-1 record.

The new passing record belongs to Feckley, however, who topped all passers with 2,559 yards in 10 games. The previous record belonged to Juneau's Chris Hinkley, who threw for 2,289 yards in 2005.

The large-school defensive player of the year was Lah Fifita, who helped the Crimson Bears reach the semifinals for the eighth time in nine years.

Assistant coaches of the year -- Numi Ilalio, Sevice; Tim Popowski, Palmer.
