Cal's Isi Sofele runs big despite smaller stature

If there's a Manny Pacquiao-like player on the Cal football team, his name is Isi Sofele, pound-for-pound the toughest little guy among his brawnier Golden Bears.
He's listed at 5-foot-8 and 190 pounds, but the height is pure prevarication. Wouldn't stand up to hand-on-bible testimony in open court.
"I guess 5-7," he said. "I don't really know how tall I am. On a good day, 5-8."
In cleats with double socks, that is.
Sofele, a junior from Salt Lake City, is among the smallest running backs in the Pac-12 and the nation, yet he has been increasingly productive for the Bears. Sofele is on pace for a 1,000-yard season with 839 yards in nine games heading into Saturday's tussle with Oregon State at AT&T Park.
