July 24, 2007IOWA CITY -- University of Iowa tight end Tony Moeaki has been named to the 2007 John Mackey Award watch list. The select group of tight ends has been released by the Nassau County Sports Commission. The award is given annually to the top tight end in collegiate football. The winner is announced in mid-December.
Moeaki, a 6-4, 255-pound junior from Wheaton, IL, is a two-year letterman who played as a true freshman in 2005. He has 19 career receptions for 252 yards and three touchdowns. He saw considerable action last year behind all-Big Ten tight end Scott Chandler.
