Hawai'i HS Football Roundup: Week of Nov 3-4

Truman Chun RB, 5'8, 185, Jr (Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, Honolulu, HI): Ran for 142 yards and one touchdown (11 yds) in 22 attempts, and Michael Hoke threw for 183 yards as fifth-ranked Kamehameha closed out the season 4-3 in Interscholastic League of Honolulu play (8-3 overall). Second-ranked Punahou also finished 4-3 in conference play (7-3 overall). Chun pictured to the right.

Jordan Ho-Ching
RB, 5'11, 175Sr (Pac-5, Honolulu, HI): Scored the game winning touchdown on a 7 yard run in the 3rd quarter in a 21-20 win over Damien. Ho-Ching had 126 yards on 14 carries. Damien running back Kama Bailey (5'7, Jr) rushed for 128 yards on 3o carries in the loss. Honolulu Advertiser

Martin Iosefo WR, Sr (Leilehua HS, Wahiawa, HI): Scored the games first touchdown on a 20 yard TD pass from Bryant Moniz. Iosefo had 6 receptions for 101 yards is the semifinals loss to Kahuku.

Junior Mataafa FB, 5'10, 195, Jr (Kahuku HS, HI): Broke an 82 yard TD run with 7:12 left in the game to break a 7 all tie in Kahuku's 13-7 win over Leilehua in the OIA Semifinals. Mataafa --who also had a fumble recovery and came within inches of blocking a punt--finished with 105 yards rushing on four carries.

Ben McQuown QB, 5'9, 150, Sr (Wai'anae HS, HI): The option quarterback led Wai'anae in the OIA Semifinals match versus Mililani 7-6 and will face Kahuku next week in the finals. McQuown was 8-15-2-96 yards and had 90 rushes on 7 yards.

Kawai Noa RB, 5'7, 160, Sr (Konawaena HS, Kealakekua, HI): Noa ran for 268 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries as Konawaena upset Honokaa 20-0 in Friday's Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division II football semifinals. Noa scored the first and last touchdowns for Konawaena -- opening the scoring with a 15-yard run in the second quarter and icing the game for his team with an 87-yard scamper late in the fourth.

Miah Ostrowski WR, 5'9, 175, Sr (Punahou HS, Honolulu, HI):
Caught six passes for 128 yards and finished the season with 82 receptions for 1,308 yards and nine touchdowns.

Kainalu Severson K, 5'7, 150, Sr (Kamehameha Schools-Maui, Pukalani, HI): Made a 44 yard field goal and completed 4-4 extra points for the Warriors in their 39-6 win over Maui HS (Kahului, HI).
