Arizona Poly Post-Season Selections

In the next few years keep an eye out for more Polynesians coming out of the Grand Canyon State. The state in particular has a growing Tongan population in the East Valley (Phoenix). The following Polynesians received post-season awards.

Nuku Latu TE, 6'2, 250, Sr Highland HS (Gilbert)
Selected Honorable Mention (5A) by the Arizona Republic. Latu played Tight End and Defensive Line for the Hawks. Also selected 1st Team Fiesta Region (5A) at Tight End. Latu has reportedly also verbally committed to Colorado State. According to MaxPreps Latu finished the season with 25 receptions and 4 TDs and on the defensive side had 49 tackles and 7 sacks.

Greg Mauai DL 6'2, 200 (Mountain View HS, Tucson)
Second Team All Southern Arizona selection at Defensive Line by the Tucson Citizen.

Manumalo Muasau DB, 6'1, 205, Jr (Buena HS, Sierra Vista)
Second Team All Southern Arizona selection at Defensive Back by the Tucson Citizen. Also selected First Team All League (Southern) at both Wide Receiver and Defensive Back. According to MaxPreps had 17 receptions for 393 yards and 7 TDs and had 37 tackles and 2 inteceptions on defense.

Frank Tautolo OL, 6'1, 390, Sr (Boboquiviri HS, Sells)
Selected 2nd Team All 2A by the Arizona Republic. Also selected All Southern Arizona (1A-3A) by the Tucson Citizen.

Keep an eye out for Manumalo Muasau next season as well as Taniela Niutei (Mountain Ridge HS, Glendale) who has been selected to compete at the US Army National Combine in San Antonio, TX on January 4th.
