Polynesian College Football Round Up Sept 28-29

Running back Kahlil Bell rushed for 2 TDs and finished with 82 yards on 24 yards in UCLA's 40-14 win over Oregon State.

Backup defensive lineman Ailao Eliapo had 5 tackles for San Jose State in a 34-14 win over UC-Davis. John Faletoese had 3 tackles including 1 for loss for UC Davis.

Linebacker La'auli Fonoti finished with 7 tackles in the New Mexico State's 20-17 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Starr Fuimaono finished with 9 tackles in UNLV's 27-20 loss to Nevada. Other Polynesian starters included right tackle Johan Asiata and defensive tackle Malo Taumua.

Colorado linebacker Jordan Dizon led the Buffaloes with 7.5 tackles including a sack in the 27-24 win over No 3 Oklahoma. Baldwin High's (Wailuku, HI) Kai Maiava started at left guard.

Playing before a record crowd and with Navy's four-year hold on the Commander-in-Chief's trophy on the line, quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada stepped up with two fourth-quarter touchdown runs, leading the Midshipmen to a 31-20 win over Air Force on Saturday. Kaheaku-Enhada finished with 102 yards rushing and 79 yards passing.

Cal Defensive Tackle Mika Kane finished with 5 tackles and fellow defensive lineman Tyson Alualu had a key interception and 1 tackle in the win 31-24 win over Oregon. Carson High's Norris Malele started at Right Guard.

San Diego State Luke Laolagi finished with 7 tackles in their 52-23 loss to Cincinnati. Trask Iosefa started on the offensive line and Siaosi Fifita started on the defensive line.

Defensive End Moses Manu finished with 2 tackles in Kansas State's 41-21 upset of Number 7 Texas. Alesana Alesana of Apia, Samoa started at left tackle and Ben Liu started at right tackle for the Wildcats.

Rey Maualuga led USC in tackles with 10 including 1 for loss in the Trojans 27-24 win over Washington. Fili Moala started at defensive tackle and guard Alatini Malu received significant playing time after Chilo Rachal was injured.

Joshua Mauga finished with 9 tackles in Nevada's win over in state rival UNLV 27-20. Other Polynesian starters included half back Vai Taua and strongside guard Charles Manu.

Defensive Lineman Koa Misi finished with 7 tackles in Utah's 34-18 win over Utah State.

Idaho Nose Tackle Siua Musika finished with 7 tackles in the 48-20 loss to Hawai'i. Musika had 4 tackles for loss including 2 sacks. Other starters included Mike Iupati at Left Guard and Fonomanu Sekona at Defensive Tackle.

Linebacker Brendan Pahulu of Houston, finished with 1.5 sacks, two tackles for loss and an interception in the Cougars loss 37-35 loss to East Carolina.

Kealoha Pilares led UH in rushing with 86 yards rushing on 10 attempts. Blocking for Pilares were starting linemen: Keith Ah Soon, Hercules Satele, John Estes, Larry Sauafea, Keoni Steinhoff. On the defensive side of the ball John Fonoti had 4 tackles including 1 sack. Polynesian defensive starters included Amani Purcell (DE), Fale Laeli (DT), Michael Lafaele (DT), Karl Noa (DE), Brad Kalilimoku (LB), and Keao Montleih (FS).

Duke Linebacker Michael Tau'ili'ili finished with 8 tackles in a 24-14 loss to Miami.

HPA graduate Daniel Te'o-Nesheim had 5 tackles and 1 sack in Washington's 27-24 loss to USC. St Louis School graduate Wilson Afoa started at defensive tackle.

Arizona Quarterback Willie Tuitama led the Wildcats to a 48-20 win over Washington State. Tuitama passed for 5 touchdowns and 22 of 31 for 346 yards.
