Menlo-Atherton won't have to share PAL Bay crown with anyone

"This is the best first half we've had all season," sad M-A running back Will Latu, who scored on TD runs of 46 and 79 yards. "Better than any half we've had all year. We showed it in practice, we practice real hard for this."

"After that three-game losing streak last year, we just got it together saying, 'We should take this, we're the better team this year, we're going all the way,'" Latu said.

Another three-and-out set up Latu's 46-yard scamper. A fumble recovery by defensive standout Litani Moimoi was followed by an 8-yard run before a 32-yard TD pass to Steve Disibio, who just sprinted past the coverage. It was 20-0 with 1:12 to go in the first quarter.

Woodside (2-8, 1-6) finally moved the ball on a 12-play drive helped out by two 15-yard penalties, before turning the ball over on downs at the M-A 21. That's when Latu took another handoff, felt his way through the defense and exploded for a 79-yard dash in front of the Bears' sideline. Latu finished with a game-high 198 rushing yards on just nine touches.
