Stockton Record Area Selections

A group of Samoans have been named to the Stockton Record's All Area First and Second Teams. These young men transferred to Franklin High School in Stockton from American Samoa and are coached by Defensive Coordinator and AIGA Foundation member Jeff Seumaala.

William Opeta P, 6'0, 180, Jr (Franklin HS, Stockton)
Second Team area selection by the Stockton Record. Also plays Defensive Back and back up Quarterback.

Philip Putuga OL, 6'3, 320, Sr (Franklin HS, Stockton)
Second Team area selection by the Stockton Record. First Team all league selection. Also registered 100 tackles (3o solo) and 8 sacks on the defensive side of the ball according to MaxPreps.

Lewis Tuiavi'i LB, 6'1, 210 Sr (Franklin HS, Stockton)
First Team area selection by the Stockton Record. Finished the season with 195 tackles (81 solo) and 18 sacks according to MaxPreps. Also selected All Section (Sac Joaquin) Honorable Mention. First Team All League and Stockton Hall of Fame Area Player of the Year. Tuiavi'i a transfer from Leone HS (AS), also participated in one of AIGA Foundation's 2006 combines.

Tenise Uelese DL, 6'0, 205, Sr (Franklin HS, Stockton)
First Team area selection by the Stockton Record. First team all league selection. Finished the season with 177 tackles (56 solo) and 16 sacks and 686 rushing yards and 4 TDs according to MaxPreps.com Coach Tom Verner called him the "strongest defensive lineman" he's ever coached. Transferred from Faga'itua HS in American Samoa.
