Arroyo Valley offensive lineman Michael Phillip and Milpitas linebacker Steven Fanua were selected first team All State Underclass by Cal-Hi Sports. Also selected to the second team were Kapono Asuega (Orange Lutheran), Brian Schwenke (Oceanside), and Sione Tuihalamaka (Serra Gardena).
OL -- Michael Phillipp (Arroyo Valley, San Bernardino) 6-4, 295, Jr.
All-San Bernardino County pick Improved a great deal this season as he became the leader of the line with the departure of his older brother to Arizona.
LB -- Steven Fanua (Milpitas) 6-1, 215, Jr.
In case you haven't noticed yet, the Central Coast Section has some very good players for next year. Fanua, an all-state sophomore last year, racked up more mind-boggling defensive numbers this year with 138 tackles and six sacks.
DL – Kapono Asuega (Lutheran, Orange) 6-2, 260, Jr.
DL – Brian Schwenke (Oceanside) 6-4, 250, Jr.
OL – Sione Tuihaiamaka (Serra, Gardena) 6-3, 265, Jr.
