The team officially announced the signing of fullback Fui Vakapuna. The rookie had been on Arizona’s practice squad after being one of the Bengals’ final cuts in training camp.
“It feels great to be back,” said Vakapuna, who was drafted in the seventh round by the Bengals. “I know a little bit about the playbook, so it’s good instead of going to a different team and having to learn a totally new system. I have a good opportunity to see if I can help out.”

With Jeremi Johnson dealing with a knee injury, Vakapuna gives the Bengals more depth at fullback.
“With Jeremi having been nicked up a little bit we felt like we needed something to cover us a little bit,” Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski said.
