2009 Football Dream Team Bios

First Team

OL, Wilson Edwards,Poly, 6-3, 280, Sr.

Since the Jackrabbits were a young team in 2009, Edwards had his work cut out for him. Poly started 1-3 and averaged just over 12 points. The Jackrabbits finished 6-6 and lost in the quarterfinals of the Pac-5 Division playoffs to eventual champion Servite. Poly averaged 26.5 points over the last eight games, thanks in part to Edwards, who was named first-team All-CIF in the Pac-5 and Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Moore League.

DL, Justin Utupo, Lakewood, 6-3, 250, Sr.

Utupo was a ferocious force for the Lancers, who made it to the CIF-SS Pac-5 Division semifinals. He had 67 tackles from his end position and led Lakewood with 11 .5 sacks. The Notre Dame-bound Utupo was named first-team All-CIF in the Pac-5 and Defensive Player of the Year in the Moore League.

DL, Michael Teo, Poly, 5-10, 235, Jr.

It's not all that common for a lineman to lead his team in tackles. But Teo did exactly that, coming through with a team-high 97 tackles for a Jackrabbits team that allowed only 28 points in two playoff games, losing, 21-18, in the quarterfinals to eventual Pac-5 champion Servite. Teo was named first-team All-Moore League.

DL, Augafa Vaaulu, Warren, 6-3, 280, Sr.

Vaaulu made 51 tackles and led the Bears with 7.5 sacks. He also was an incredible blocking tight end on offense, opening holes for Co-Player of the Year Jesse Callier as well as catching 10 passes. Vaaulu was named first-team All-CIF in the Western Division.

LB, Keanu Kalolo, Lakewood, 5-11, 220, Sr.

Kalolo, headed to Northern Arizona, led the Lancers with 93 tackles. He also had two sacks and one fumble recovery. Kalolo was named first-team All-CIF in the Pac-5 and first-team All-Moore League.
