2007 NFL Combine

A group of Polynesians will be participating in next week's 2007 NFL Combine. The 10 players includes nine Samoans and one Hawaiian of which six are from Hawai'i high schools and two are from Amerika Samoa. The Univeristy of Hawai'i at Manoa has 6 participants in the combine


DL CJ Ah You Oklahoma (Lone Peak HS, Highland, UT)
2006 1st Team All Big 12 selection at Defensive End. Ah You finished the season with 43 tackles (25 solo), 10 for loss (including 4 sacks). Ah You is a transfer from Snow College (Ephraim, UT) after playing one season at BYU. 2006 Hula Bowl Participant

DL Ikaika Alama-Francis Hawai'i (Kalaheo HS, Kailua, HI)
2006 1st Team All WAC selection at Defensive End. Finished the season with 39 tackles (21 solo), 10 tackles for loss (4 sacks), and 15 quarterback hurries. 2006 Hula Bowl Participant

OL Tala Esera Hawai'i (Kahuku HS, Hau'ula, HI)
2006 1st Team All WAC selection at Tackle. 2006 East-West Shrine Bowl Participant

RB Nate Ilaoa Hawai'i (North Stafford HS, Stafford, VA)
2006 1st Team All WAC selection at Running Back. Rushed for 990 yards on 131 carries (76 yds game) and 13 rushing TDs. Also had 67 receptions for 837 yards and 5 TDs. 2006 Hula Bowl Participant

OL Palauni Ma Sun Oregon (Kahuku HS, La'ie, HI)
2006 PAC-10 Honorable Mention selection at Guard. Transfer from Fresno CC (CA). 2006 Hula Bowl Participant

DB Leonard Peters Hawai'i (Kahuku HS, La'ie, HI)
2006 1st Team All WAC selection at Safety. Had 74 tackles (43 solo) , 3 tackles for loss (1 sack) and 3 interceptions which he returned 2 for touchdown. 2006 Hula Bowl Participant

OL Samson Satele Hawai'i (Kailua HS, Kane'ohe, HI)
2006 1st Team All WAC selection at Center. 2006 Senior Bowl Participant

DL Paul Soliai Utah (Nu'uuli Voc Tech, Nu'uuli, AS)
2006 2nd Team All MWC selection while playing Nose Tackle for the Utes. Soliai, a transfer from Coffeyville CC (KS), finished the season with 35 tackles (13 solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks while plugging up the middle for Utah. 2006 East-West Shrine Bowl Participant.

DL Matt Toeaina Oregon (Samoana HS, Pago Pago, AS)
2006 PAC-10 Honorable Mention selection at Defensive End. Finished the season with 36 tackles (18 solo), 3 tackles for loss, and 3 quarterback hurries. Toeaina was Oregon's first direct recruit from American Samoa. Faiva Talaeai (Nu'uuli Voc Tech, AS) who lettered for Oregon in 1999 transferred to the Eugene campus via CC of San Francisco. 2006 Hula Bowl Participant
