AIGA Foundation 2008 All Star Team: Third Team Offense

QUARTERBACK

Andrew Manley (Leilehua-Wahiawa, HI) 6’3, 215, Jr

First Team All State selection by Honolulu Advertiser and Star Bulletin. Star Bulletin State Star Bulletin Offensive Player of the Year, Advertiser Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Manley passed for 3,665 yards and 31 touchdowns. He completed 62 percent of his pass attempts (315-for-509) and led his team to the State Championship game for the second year in a row. RUNNING BACKS

Jesse Callier 5’11, 180, Jr (Warren-Downey, CA)

Rushed for 2466 yards on 313 rushes and 30 TDs as a junior. He added two more touchdowns, one on a pass reception, and averaged 19.9 yards per kickoff return. Long Beach Press Telegram "Dream Team". All-CIF SS-Western Division.


Apelu So’oalo (Farrington-Honolulu, HI) 5’10, 185, Sr

First Team All State selection by Honolulu Advertiser and Star Bulletin.1215 yards, 5.4 yards per attempt, 12 TDs. He also made eight field goals. Hawai’i/Polynesia vs. Mainland All Star Game participant.


Erwin Taliaoa (Overfelt-San Jose, CA) 5’11, 175, Sr

San Jose Mercury News Honorable Mention. League (Blossom Valley-West Valley Division) Senior of the Year. According to Max Preps ran for 1820 yards on 188 carries and 24 touchdowns.


RECEIVERS

Ross Apo (Oakridge-Arlington, TX) 6’3, 190, Jr

Had 37 catches for 764 yards and 8 touchdowns as a junior.


Shayden Kehano (Castle-Kane’ohe, HI) 5’11, 155, Jr

OIA East Offensive Player of the Year. Led league with 712 yards receiving and had 34 receptions. First Team All State All Purpose (Honolulu Advertiser), Second Team All State (Star Bulletin).


ALL PURPOSE

Brett Thompson (Oak Ridge-El Dorado Hills, CA) 6’3, 210, Sr

Second Team All Purpose Sacramento Bee All-Metro. First Team All-League Utility. Rushed for 694 yards (6.8 yards per carry) and 12 TDs, 26 receptions for 242 yards and 3 TDs. Brother Hiram plays basketball at Hawai’i.Will play at BYU.


OFFENSIVE LINE

Tua Faletagoai (Fort Osage-Independence, MO) 6’3, 295, Sr

First Team All State (5A), Second Team All State (Coaches), First Team All-Metro (Kansas City Star). 46 pancake blocks, anchored line that blocked for 1900 yard rusher.


Alesana Laban (Grant-Sacramento, CA) 6’1, 285, Sr

Max Preps 2nd Team All State DI, First Team All-Metro (Sacramento Bee). Metro League Line Player of the Year. Helped lead Grant to California State Open Division Championship.


Anu Poleo (East-Anchorage, AK) 6’0, 275, Sr

First Team All State offensive and defensive line for the second year in a row. Also named Cook Inlet Conference (CIC) lineman of the year for the second year in a row.


Sione Potoa’e (Lakes-Lakewood, WA) 6’2, 285, Jr

First Team All State (3A), Tacoma Tribune All-Area First Team, Seattle Times PI First Team. First Team All League (SPSL) offensive and defensive line. SPSL Offensive Line Player of the Year. 2010 verbal to Washington.


Fono Vakalahi (Bryan, TX) 6’3, 325, Sr

First Team District 12-5A. Brother Moses played at Texas A&M. Brother Moses played at Texas A&M. Will attend BYU.
